Proof of God # 1
Oppi the Optimist” and “Pessi the Pessimist” shown above.
Some people find it hard to "Believe in God" since they have never actually seen Him and they are always looking for proof like: Is the “Shroud of Turin” real? They think "It would be EASY to believe in God if I had actual proof that He exists". Well, for those people, here's the proof ...
The proof has always been "right in front of us" but many people have never seen it. There are billions of examples but I'll just mention a few. For example:
Where did "Everything" come from?
We all know that “Everything comes from something else”. For example, babies come from their parents, products come from factories, the 20th century came from the 19th century etc. So, where did the very first planet, light and people come from?
We want to look at this logically so let's go back to the very beginning. Let's go back a trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion years ago or even father back - to just before the very beginning - when "nothing" existed. Now, is it possible that "nothing" existed and then SUDDENLY planets, light, gravity, and people etc. magically appeared? If that's true, human beings could not have made those things happen because they didn't exist yet so who or what made them happen? Some people say "it just happened" but since those things are so complex that we still don't understand them, it would make more sense that someone - far superior to humans - was responsible for the creation of "The Beginning", especially since humans can't even figure out how "something" can come from "nothing".
Let's look at this logically. We'll start with the HUMAN BEING.
Let's look at the most complicated material in the universe - the Human Being. Some of the smartest humans have attended the best medical schools and they still can't completely understand how the body works and they definitely can't understand how to make any of the organs, bones, nerves, muscles, tendons, ligaments etc. that make up a human body. Our brains are extremely complex because they have the ability to send a man to the moon, remember things that happened 50 years ago, control our muscles so we can run gracefully, receive messages from our taste buds and all of the nerves in our skin, tell our eye muscles how to work together, tell us how to chew and swallow, tell us when to breathe and even tell our heart when to beat etc. Humans can't completely figure out how our brain works and we sure can't create a brain so have you ever wondered who made our brains? Did something that complex "just happen" without any supervision from a "superior being"? When a baby is formed, there are two cells that each contain enough information to create every part of a human and each cell is so small we can barely see it with a microscope. Those two cells match up perfectly to form a human being. Did a bunch of cells "just happen" to land next to each other and "magically" they created the most complex organism in the universe? When we think of things that "just happened", we think of simple things like cars bumping into each other but nothing as complex as the creation of a human being etc. Something that complex would take the guidance of someone infinitely smarter than any human, it surely never "just happened". The odds of that would be much less than if you took billions of multi-colored sand particles and you shook them up and they “just happened to” turn into the most beautiful picture you have ever seen - a trillion times every day!
If you think that is possible, grab some sand and a plate and “start shaking” and call the Pope when you get it to happen once! (Don’t worry about his phone number, you won’t need it.)
Scientists are just now discovering more about how DNA looks but it has existed for many years. It is a LOT easier to observe DNA that it is to make DNA! We’ll never be able to make DNA but DNA exists so how did it get here? Do you think something as complex as DNA, with its millions of combinations of proteins that have to be in the perfect sequence to work ... "just happened"?
Let's look at the human eye. There are six million nerve fibers and every one of them has to be in just the right place for the eye to work but that happens millions of times every day. When the eye looks at an object, an area called the macula is used to see it. The rest of the retina is used to see the less important objects in our peripheral vision. Guess what ... the macula "just happens" to have the majority of the receptors in the eye - just where we need them - and the periphery has the fewest number of receptors because that area of the eye isn't as important. Now, we know humans could not have made that happen so do you think it "just happened"?
If a sharp object tries to penetrate the eye, the sharp object will hit "descemet's membrane" just before it would enter the eye, where it would do the most damage to the eye. Decemet's membrane protects the eye from serious injuries. Coincidence?
The eye contains receptors called "rods" that are used for night vision. They are located in the periphery of the retina but light can't stimulate the rods because the pupil is constricted during the daytime, so that the light can focus on the macula. The evening light would never be able to stimulate the rods, which are in the periphery, and allow us to see in dark illumination except that the pupil of the eye does an incredible thing. It "dilates" or becomes larger. This never happens when it is bright outside, but when it gets dark outside and we need to use our rods to see, the pupils dilate so the light can strike the rods, which are in the periphery of the retina. Do you think the eye parts "just happened" to know where to go and how to all work together to allow humans to see?
Let’s look at the eyes of some animals who have special needs ...
Cats need to see at night so they have an extra "reflective membrane" in their eye so that light travels through it and then the light hits the back of the eye and it bounces back through that “reflective layer” again so their eyes see the same light twice! That's why, when you see a cat at night with your car head lights, you can see their eyes because you are seeing the light bouncing from the back of their eyes towards you.
Sharks like to attack just about anything and they could damage their eyes when they "chomp" down with their jaws so they have an extra "nicotating membrane" that covers their eyes, when they begin to bite their prey, to protect their eyes.
That's a LOT of incredible things to "just happen" and we have just been discussing one organ - the eye.
Let’s look at some other parts of the human body ...
The human spinal cord is very complex. There are thousands of nerves entering and leaving from it throughout its entire length and if any of them didn't relay their message to or from the brain perfectly, the body wouldn't work properly. The spinal cord also flexes and gets smaller and larger depending on where it is located in the body and what jobs it has to do.
When a baby is being formed, and it is still in its mother's body, it doesn't have any oxygen to breathe but it doesn't need any because it can get oxygen from its mother's blood. The unborn baby's lungs don't even work. The instant the baby is born, it is separated from its mother so it can no longer get oxygen from its mother's blood but it still needs oxygen to live so how does it get the oxygen it needs? Miraculously, the lungs suddenly begin working - not one minute before birth or one minute after birth or the baby would die but at the instant it is born. Human can only describe how it happens but we will never be smart enough to make it happen so who made it happen? Do you suppose it "just happens"?
The reproductive system of humans is extremely complex. It allows the females to contribute an egg and the males to contribute a sperm and, when the sperm fertilizes the egg, they form a completely new human! Millions of sperm are released because some sperm die before they reach the egg so what prevents the female's body from having millions of babies? Well, miraculously, as soon as one or two sperm fertilize the egg, a membrane surrounds the egg so no more sperm can fertilize it! That would take a smart engineer to even think of that and we know they couldn't make it happen but the female body has been doing that for a long time.
Children like to eat sweets and they aren’t very good at brushing their teeth, especially when they are babies, so they often get cavities but when they get a little older, suddenly they lose their ‘baby teeth” and they get a completely new set of “adult teeth” to start over again. Does this process ever happen again during their lifetime? No, it just happens once, when they are young and they need it to happen, because they can maintain better tooth hygiene when they are older. We know that humans aren’t smart enough to make even one tooth so they couldn’t possibly make all of a baby's teeth fall out and then create a completely new set of teeth that are the same shape as the "baby teeth". Our mouths have gums but they were not strong enough to chew our food so we miraculously developed teeth. How did our bodies know that?
Human bodies are mostly comprised of water. When we get over-heated, the water in our bodies absorb some of the excess heat and then our bodies release that water as “sweat” and our bodies cool down. Humans still don’t understand the complex process that makes this happen and we sure couldn’t make it happen but it has happened since mankind began.
When the human body is extremely cold, it begins to "shiver" uncontrollably and then the muscles burn more energy and they create heat and the body gets warmer.
People need and have bones from their youth or they couldn't stand up or grow taller but adult bones are hard and they don't grow longer so how is it that children's bones grow longer? Also, children need extra protection because they have more accidents than adults. Children would have many more broken bones during their childhood since hard bones break easier than soft bones would so the body has an ingenious way of solving both of these bone problems. The solution: The bones of children contain mostly cartilage and this cartilage miraculously changes to hard bone when they reach adult hood. The cartilage is flexible so it prevents broken bones and it allows the bones to grow longer so children get taller. As soon as they reach their adult height, the bone instantly changes from cartilage to hard bone. What a lucky "break" or lack there of ...
Since adult bones are hard, they would rub together and the friction would cause them to wear out but our bodies have “pads” between the ends of certain bones to prevent this from happening. The bones also need a way to connect them to our muscles, so they can move and even twist, so we have developed tendons and ligaments that do this for us.
When a man-made product, like a car, has damage to it, it can't fix itself. (Nothing made by humans can repair itself.) The dent remains in the same condition until it rusts but when a human cuts their finger, “platelet cells” rush to the injury site and start a chain reaction that stops the bleeding and eventually creates a scar, which is stronger than the original tissue. The body even has it own immune system, which supplies antibiotics in case there is an infection. It took scientists years to be able to describe the process but somebody, who was "pretty smart" made the process happen unless it ... "just happened" on its own.
Humans can make micro transistors from raw minerals found in the earth, which can make thousands of computations per second, but pregnant human females have “fertilized eggs” that contain enough information to make a human being with all of its organs (brain, lungs, spinal cord, liver, spleen, thyroid, eyes, skin etc.) and all of their systems (digestive, reproductive, endocrine, exocrine, nervous, respiratory, muscular, skeletal, urinary etc.) and a LOT more. When those eggs divide into two parts, they have to divide perfectly in half, for the baby to be formed correctly, and they do it millions of times every day around the world.
Some humans live where they don't have shoes so their feet develop thick calluses to protect them. (It's like "built in" shoes.)
The most expensive car may last 20 years if it is maintained and driven just a few miles every day but a human heart can beat for over 100 years with no maintenance and it beats every second of that time. The human heart beats more when we need extra blood and less when we don't and it knows when each of those times happen.
Our "kidneys" filter all of our blood and they secrete exactly what we don't need out of our body as urine. How do the kidneys transport the urine to the bladder? Well, there "just happens" to be two tubes, called ureters, that connect the kidneys to the bladder. Our urine would continuously flow out of our body if we didn't have a place for it to be stored but there "just happens" to be a storage place called a "bladder". Once the urine is in the bladder, it needs another way for it to be transported out of our body but, you guessed it, there "just happens" to be a tube called a "urethra" that does that. The urine would continuously flow out of the body but, you guessed it again, there “just happens” to be a sphincter muscle, that our brain controls, that tells it when to release the urine.
Human bodies have hundreds of muscles that all work miraculously together so we can perform functions like walking, running, chewing, grabbing, lifting, turning etc. in a quick and graceful manner. (Humans have tried to make "artificial" legs and arms but their best prototypes move slowly and erratically.)
The kidneys filter out the liquid impurities in our blood but we also have solid impurities that would kill us so how does our body get rid of them? Well, it "just happens" that we have a "liver" that does this for us. Our liver is so necessary for our life that, if part of it is removed, we will die so it is designed so that, if part of it is removed, the missing part will grow back, very quickly to the exact same shape. (We can only wish the best engineers at General Motors could do that with our cars... but they can’t)
Humans have a "thyroid gland" that controls so many bodily functions that it is called the "Master gland" of the body even though it is only the size of a walnut. Humans need to have our blood transported to and from our organs etc. but “we're in luck" because we "just happen" to have flexible tubes called arteries and veins, which do that for us. The arteries carry blood, that is under greater pressure since it is leaving the heart, to our organs. The arteries need to have thicker walls than the veins, and our "luck" continues because they are thicker.
Our heart continually pumps small amounts of blood to all of our body parts. With each heartbeat, the blood in our legs is pumped a few inches up the leg, toward the heart. Then, when the heart is preparing for the next heartbeat, gravity would make the blood in our legs flow back down unless we had some “one-way” valves that would keep the blood from falling back down and you guessed it, “our luck" continues because we all have one-way valves in the veins in of our legs. (When those valves wear out, the blood can’t go up and it “pools” in the legs and we get “varicose veins”.)
Our organs perform vital bodily functions and they use energy to do this so they need oxygen to help create this energy but our "luck" continues because our lungs put this necessary oxygen back into the blood. The "arteries" carry the blood to our organs and the oxygen in the blood is transferred to the organ. How is it transferred, you ask? Well, that’s a whole LOT of very complex "luck"! Anyway, now that the organ has removed the oxygen from the blood, the "veins" will carry the de-oxygenated blood back to the lungs, where the lungs will put more oxygen back into the blood and the cycle will repeat thousands of times a day.
Our bodies need energy so we eat food and our body miraculously knows how to turn this food into energy! We eat food and the food travels from our mouth through a tube called the esophagus to our stomach, where very strong acids digest it. The stomach needs an extra strong lining so the acid doesn't digest the stomach walls and miraculously it has it! Then, the food leaves the stomach and it travels through the small intestine. The body absorbs the nutrients it needs through the small intestine and the rest of the food passes into the large intestine. The food is able to pass through the small and large intestines because it is mostly water but when it enters the large intestines, the excess water is absorbed through the large intestine and the food becomes more solid and then it can be released from the body. It’s getting harder and harder to think that all of those processes "just happens" isn’t it...
Very briefly, here are some more “Miraculous” examples of the human body...
We miraculously have very tiny hairs and bones in our ears for equilibrium so we can keep our balance. Our hearts miraculously beat faster when our bodies need more oxygen. Our hearts need extra protection and we miraculously have an extra bone - sternum - in front of it. Our other vital organs - liver, spleen, kidneys, pancreas, stomach etc - need protection also so we miraculously have ribs over them. Humans get into accidents and we miraculously have a spleen, which stores blood for those emergencies. We need help to hear and we miraculously have tiny bones and an eardrum to allow us to hear. To hear better, we miraculously have large “outer ears” to collect noises for the “inner ear” to work better. Our sense of “touch” helps us to analyze our world and miraculously we have extra nerves in our fingertips. To give birth, a women’s pelvis needs to be larger than a man’s and miraculously it is. We couldn’t kneel without damaging our leg bones but miraculously we have a knee-cap to protect them. We would constantly breathe in debris but we miraculously have tiny hairs in our nose to prevent this. When we get a larger object in our airway, miraculously we sneeze to remove it. When we get an object in our throat, miraculously we cough to get it out. Our noses could face any direction but they miraculously face down so we collect less debris in it. Our eyes are extremely important so they are miraculously located within sockets to protect them. Our skin gets damaged but it miraculously sloughs-off and new skin replaces it. Our hands need extra bones so we can grab objects and miraculously we have them. Our feet need extra bones so we can move better and miraculously we have them. Our heart and lungs need to function, even if we are unconscious, and miraculously they do. When we experience pain, our nerves tell our brain and it miraculously tells our muscles how to respond. Female’s ovaries need enough eggs to last through their reproductive years and miraculously they do. Our brains are extremely important so we miraculously have extra thick bone that covers them. Our brains need blood so we miraculously have two carotid arteries in our neck, in case one is damaged. Our brains also miraculously have a “Circle of Willis” that is a circular supply of blood, at the base of the brain, that helps to supply blood to any part of the brain that needs it.
You are probably getting tired of hearing how miraculous the body is so...
Let's talk about something "almost" as amazing... the UNIVERSE.
There are billions of planets in every galaxy and there are billions of galaxies in our universe. That's a lot of planets to "just happen", wouldn't you agree?
The planet earth alone is so complex that the "It just happened" theory is unimaginable. The planet earth contains humans and thousands of species of animals and plants etc. and they live on dirt, in the water, on deserts, on mountain tops, in trees and under ground etc.
It's a very interesting planet. For example, the earth has a very hot central core but it is the perfect temperature for humans on the surface. The continents of the earth are continually moving and forming new continents. For example, Hawaii was formed from underground volcanoes. As the earth moved above the volcanoes, it formed the various Hawaiian Islands. North, South and Central America used to be connected to the European and African continents. The earth was once covered with ice during the "Ice Age" and glaciers formed the Great Lakes. The "North" and "South" poles of the earth reverse over-and-over but it takes millions of years for them to do it.
The sun is a very interesting planet also. It takes an enormous amount of fuel to keep it burning and, over the millions of years, it has burned at exactly the same temperature and it burns at the perfect temperature or life on earth wouldn't be able to exist. Scientists on earth are not able to create fusion, which could supply cheap energy for earth for millions of years, but fusion occurs every second in the sun. Since fusion is too complex for our scientists to figure out, who created the fusion in the sun? Do you think it "just happened"?
All of the billions of planets have remained at approximately the same location for billions of years. For example, our moon and the earth don't get any closer or farther to each other because their gravitational pull attracts each other just enough to counteract the centrifugal force which is pulling them apart. The planets never fall out space so what is holding them up? Did that "just happen" too?
We are continually discovering very complex things in the universe that were created millions of years ago. For example, Einstein discovered that "time" isn't constant. For many years, we thought it was constant but it turns out it is much more complex than we first thought. For example, if a spacecraft could travel at the speed of light, time would stop! Scientists verified this by sending two jets, containing very accurate clocks, around the world in different directions, and the clock that traveled faster, due to the rotation of the earth, showed a reduced time on it. The fact that scientists still don't understand how that happens shows that "someone", who is a LOT smarter than humans, is "running the show".
Scientists are just now discovering new "sub-atomic" particles like quarks. They believe that even smaller particles exist but we don't have proof of that yet. They also think something called "Black Matter" exists but we don't have proof of that either. They are constantly making new discoveries but the things they discover have been around for millions of years. Does it make sense that those very complex particles, that we can't even understand with today's technology, "just happened"?
Let's talk about ... ANIMALS.
There are millions of animals that survive differently either in water, on the ground or in the air. They all had or have different anatomies. For example:
and many more.
Some animals are "predators" and they eat other animals, which are called their "prey". Depending on which they are, they have unique capabilities to help them survive. For example:
Chameleons need a way to hide from their predators so they have the unique ability to change the color of their body so it blends with the color of the surface they are over at that time. Just think about that... Some part of their body recognizes the color of the surface they are over and then "magically" their body changes to that color!
There are fish that need to attract other fish so they can eat them and they have a unique tongue that looks like a fish on the end of it. When they open their mouth and wiggle their tongue, the end of their tongue - which looks like a fish - attracts other fish that are wanting to "make a dinner" out of what they think is a small fish but they get fooled and they become "dinner" for the larger fish.
There isn't enough food for Polar bears to eat during the winter so they have the unique ability to "hibernate" and they can simply fall asleep and go months without eating. Then, they wake up when food is more plentiful. Hunters could see polar bears if they weren't pure white ... but they are white so they blend in with the snow for their protection. Bears, living in areas that are darker in color, usually have brown or black coats.
If dogs had sweat glands, they would sweat and be “stinky” and they would need lots of baths and they wouldn’t be good pets ... but they don’t have any sweat glands.
Clams, oysters and lobsters “taste great” so they need extra protection so .... clams and oysters have hard “shells” and lobsters have large “claws”. Oysters can even turn a grain of sand into a “pearl”!
Python snakes need a lot of food since they are large so they have the unique ability open their jaws extra wide so they can swallow another animal, such as a pig, which is wider than the pythons jaws and then the pythons body stretches to contain the pig while the snakes enzymes digest it. The pig will provide nutrition for the snakes or several days.
Eagles and hawks need to be able to see their prey from very high distances or they would starve to death because, unlike people, they can't wear glasses, so every one of them have the unique ability to see perfectly from very high distances.
Fish need oxygen to breathe but they have the unique ability of being able to remove it from the water they swim in because they have "gills".
Ant-eaters need really long snouts so they can get ants out of small round holes in the ground and their snouts "just happen" to be the exact diameter and length needed for them to get to the ants.
Some animas need a way to eat from the tops of trees but they can't climb the trees like other animals so they have unique necks, that are really long, and we call them giraffes.
Some fish have the ability to “aim” and "spit" water from their mouths, from under the water, and knock an insect off of a nearby twig so it falls into the water and they can eat it.
Humans can't even make a single living animal but there are millions of different animals and they all have different hearts, lungs, brains, circulatory systems and eyes etc. that are designed specifically for them. Every one of those animals has a different digestive system that is designed to digest the different foods that particular animal eats. Some animals are capable of living in the depths of the ocean while others live on the tallest mountain peaks - without scuba gear or winter clothes. Animals need extra warmth during the winter so they "miraculously" grow thicker fur during the winter. On the coldest days, when we are driving home with our car heaters set on "high", we often see wild animals, who will survive in the forest without any house or winter clothes. Do you think the millions of animals and all of the peculiarities that are specific to each one of them "just happened"?
Let's talk about things with ... INSTINCT.
When babies are born, they are helpless since they haven't learned anything yet. They would die if they didn't know how to suck on a bottle or their mothers breast but they know how to do that from the moment they are born! Have you ever wondered how they learned to do that?
People have to go to the airport and take several lessons to learn how to fly because it's very difficult but, when birds are born, every one of them already knows how to fly ... so who taught them how to fly? (And they don't even need an airplane!)
Moles are slow so they travel underground. Who teaches them how to navigate underground?
Who teaches the ducks to fly in a "V" formation to reduce their air resistance?
Snakes lose their outer skin and grow new ones.
Moths turn into butterflies!
Who teaches some animals to hunt in packs, to be more effective, and other animals to travel in packs for their protection?
Whales will surround floating ice, that has a seal on it, and one whale will splash water onto the ice so the seal will be forced to go to the other side of the ice where the other whales will eat it. I wonder who taught them that strategy?
Who taught birds how to build nests and to fly South when winter is coming?
Who taught squirrels to store extra nuts for the winter? (Birds and squirrels don't have calendars.)
People need engineers to build a dam but beavers are born with that knowledge.
Bees pollinate various flowers or the flowers wouldn’t be able to reproduce.
Mice can navigate through a maze because they have the ability to remember where they have been. They need that ability because they travel at night and they would get lost without it.
Alligators know how to “roll” to drown their prey.
Hummingbirds can “hover” so they can focus on a single flower longer.
Parrots are not only beautiful but they can repeat what we say!
Many animals have spots and zebras have stripes to help them hide.
Bats live in caves, where it’s too dark to see, so they have “sonar”. Animals that live in “lighted” areas never have sonar. It took humans millions of years to develop sonar but bats have had it for a very long time.
Fireflies know how to make their tails light up” probably so children can catch them and put them in a jar.
Let's talk about the “cool” ways that animals DEFEND themselves...
Rattlesnakes shake their tails and their tails “just happen” to contain a “rattle”. If their enemy doesn’t leave, the rattlesnakes bite them with their poisonous venom.
Yellow jackets, bees, poisonous snakes and stingrays know their “stings” hurt so they sting their enemy.
Pythons squeeze their prey until it dies.
Goats can ward off the enemy by “butting them” with their horn.
When “electric eels” are in danger, they know how to “shock” their enemy.
When an octopus is in danger, it releases a cloud of “ink” and it escapes through the cloud of ink.
We all know what skunks do when they are threatened! (How do they know they can “stink” people away?)
Dogs know that “showing their teeth” and “growling” will scare off predators.
Porcupines have sharp quills that allow the porcupine to worry less about being attacked.
You have to ask yourself ... How do those animals know all that?
Let's talk about ... POWER.
Humans often think they are powerful because they can invent things like jet engines and atomic bombs but there are forces on this earth that tremendously more powerful. For example:
Exploding “Super Novas”
and a LOT more.
The power humans can make is infinitesimal compared to the power in the items above so who could make something so powerful? They would have to be infinitely smarter than humans and they “probably” never "just happened"...
Let's talk about ... EVOLUTION.
The accomplishments of humans all relate to things that are already here, like operating on human bodies that were already here, discovering atoms or creating skyscrapers from minerals in the earth that already exist but we can't create anything from nothing. We can't make something that evolves into something better. When we make something, it remains the same until it rusts or falls apart. We can build a car from materials that we mine from the earth but, when we build it and it gets a dented fender, it won't fix itself, it just rusts. We can't makes something that evolves into something better but humans continue to get taller, live longer, run faster and set new sports records every year so whoever created humans must have been infinitely smarter than any human. Could the complex ability to "evolve" be something that "just happened" ... that theory is getting harder and harder to believe.
Here’s a question: In case there is someone who STILL believes that “Everything” ... JUST HAPPENED ... and then it started the UNBELIEVABLE COMPLEX process of “Evolving”, then who taught it how to “Evolve”?
Ok, let's talk about ... THINGS WE CAN'T SEE.
If we put ALL of the smartest people in the world together for a billions years, do you think they could invent any of the following:
I don't think so either so how did it get here? This is getting even harder to explain logically because humans couldn't do it and surely they never "just happened"...
Let's talk about ... MISCELANEOUS things.
Who tells all of the various species of plants, trees and every single blade of grass to start growing at the same time every year and to die at the same time too?
Deer's antlers fall off every year so the deer can grow new ones that are even larger because the deer have grown larger. Have you ever wondered how the antlers know to do that? Either those antlers are really smart or ‘someone else’ is in control.
Dandelions need to spread their seeds, but they can’t move, so they let the wind carry their seeds for them.
Wow, where do we begin...
Let's start "small". The smallest flea has a very small heart, lungs, arteries, veins, legs, liver, kidneys etc. and their tiny brain tells all of those parts how to work together.
Now, let's think BIG. The dinosaurs had a great BIG heart, lungs, arteries, veins, different kinds of legs etc. and their BIG brains told all of those parts how to work together.
Now, let's think "HUGE". The Universe has billions of planets in every galaxy and there are billions of galaxies in the universe. That's too "mind boggling" to imagine.
Now, let's think "complex". The human being is unbelievably complex! Could the humans, who perform surgery or who gracefully sprint in races or who do gymnastics in the Olympics have been formed by material that “just happened” to fall together and form them? Instead of thinking of a surgeon, who performs a heart transplant, as the ultimate intelligence, we should think of the “ultimate intelligence” as the one who created the heart in the first place!
People are always wanting to see some “Proof of God” but the truth is, we live in a most AMAZING world, where “miracles” constantly happen all around us every day and we don’t even notice them. For example, a surgeon could perform a lung transplant on a patient, using information from her brain. Then, she could get on a jet, that was made from natural resources, which were found in the earth, and the jet would overcome gravity and fly at 50,000 feet, through the snow of Indiana, over the Pacific ocean, to Hawaii for her vacation with her children. When she arrived, she would see whales in the ocean, a volcano that was formed when the earth’s “tectonic plates” moved and the molten material from the earth’s core rose to the surface of the earth. She, and her children, would call on their cell phone and speak to their father via electronic transmissions and then they would walk past flowers and look at some wood, in a campfire, where the wood was changed to light and heat by a chemical reaction. They would look up, with their eyes, and see the blue sky with white, cumulous clouds, which would later turn into a thunderstorm and produce a gentle rain to nourish the grass, coconuts and farmlands and then later, the sky would display thousands of stars and a beautiful full moon, that would cause the ocean’s tides to go “in” and “out” every 6 hours. That same moon would light up the palm trees and the ocean all around the island. The surgeon and her children were actually the greatest miracle of everything they experienced!
Proof of God # 2
It would be nice to have more proof that God exists, wouldn’t it? Well, here’s more…
The next time you are driving down the street, simply look around! You may see other people, trees, clouds, the sun or the moon, animals, wheat fields, lakes, mountains, grass, oceans, the Grand Canyon, Mount Everest and many beautiful sunsets which are never the same.
Now, in your wildest imagination, can you think of a person who is capable of making just one of those things?
It is hard to brush the teeth of young children and children love to eat sweets and candy, therefore their first set of teeth don’t usually end up in the best condition. So, when children reach a certain age and they can start brushing their teeth themselves, they begin to lose their first set of teeth and they get a completely new set of teeth. Do you think that just happens? It is like when the trees lose all of their leaves at the beginning of winter in the North and then, they all get new leaves again when springtime arrives.
When a baby is in its mother’s womb, it doesn’t need air to breathe but the instant it is born and it is surrounded by air, it can’t survive without air! Do you think that just happens?
When a car gets damaged, it will stay dented forever unless we get someone to repair it but whenever we have a small cut on our body and it bleeds, it slowly stops bleeding and it heals itself! Do you think that just happens?
If you are still not convinced that there is a God, here are a few more things to think about ...
A baby begins when two cells - one from each parent - join together to form a baby. Those two cells contain enough information to make the following parts of a baby...
Brain that has memory and can process our thoughts and help us to send men to the moon. Spinal cord with millions of nerves passing through it and going to the proper place. Heart that beats continuously for several decades. Eyes that each contain 6 million nerve fibers that connect the eyes to the brain. Bones that get longer but stop growing when we become adults. Muscles that make the body walk smoothly, which computers still can't do. Liver that continuously filters the food in the body. Kidneys that continuously filter and excrete the fluids in our body. Thyroid that regulates our endocrine system. Arteries that carry oxygen to our organs. Veins that carry waste products from our organs. Ligaments and tendons that help our body to move properly. and a LOT more and they are all connected and they work very well together!
The smartest surgeons still can't figure out how all of those body parts work and they sure can't figure out how to make one of them so ..... who made them? Did something so complicated just happen?
STILL not convinced?
Do you think all of the smartest people in the world could invent any of the following:
Sores that repair them self
OK, for the people who are STILL not convinced?
Let's go back in time about a trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion years before there was ANYTHING! Then, SUDDENLY there were billions of planets in every galaxy and billions of galaxies in our universe! Where did they all come from? We know that people can't make billions of planets so who made them and where did they come from since humans never existed for billions of years?
It's obvious that humans aren't alone and there is a "Supreme Being", who is in charge of everything … and that is God!
The 15 Promises the “Blessed Virgin Mary” promises you if you say the Rosary devoutly every day
Besides the Indulgences attached to the Rosary, Our Lady revealed to St. Dominic and Blessed Alan de la Roche additional benefits for those who devoutly pray the Rosary. Our Lady's promise is shown in bold text. Additional explanation on and doctrinal connections to each promise is shown following in the smaller normal text font and color. Note that the Rosary is the prayer (non-Liturgical) with the most published Magisterial / Papal documents expounding on its excellence. Vatican II's summary on Our Lady is contained in Lumen Gentium chapter VIII.
Signal Graces are those special and unique Graces to help sanctify us in our state in life. See the remaining promises for an explanation for which these will consist. St. Louis de Montfort states emphatically that the best and fastest way to union with Our Lord is via Our Lady [True Devotion to Mary, chapter four].
Our Lady is our Advocate and the channel of all God's Grace to us. Our Lady is simply highlighting that She will watch especially over us who pray the Rosary. (see Lumen Gentium chapter VIII - Our Lady #62) [a great more detail is available on this topic in True Devotion to Mary, chapter four, by St. Louis de Montfort]
This promise, along with the next, is simply the reminder on how fervent prayer will help us all grow in holiness by avoiding sin, especially a prayer with the excellence of the Rosary. An increase in holiness necessarily requires a reduction in sin, vice, and doctrinal errors (heresies). If only the Modernists could be convinced to pray the Rosary! (see Lumen Gentium chapter V - The Call to Holiness #42) St. Louis de Montfort states "Since Mary alone crushed all heresies, as we are told by the Church under the guidance of the Holy Spirit (Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary)..." [True Devotion to Mary #167]
Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means. This promise, along with the previous, is the positive part, that being to live in virtue. Becoming holy is not only avoiding sin, but also growing in virtue. (see Lumen Gentium chapter V - The Call to Holiness #42)
Since Our Lady is our Mother and Advocate, She always assists those who call on Her implicitly by praying the Rosary. The Church reminds us of this in the “Memorare prayer"... never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession, was left unaided ..."
This promise highlights the magnitude of Graces that the Rosary brings to whomever prays it. One will draw down God's Mercy rather than His Justice and will have a final chance to repent (see promise #7). One will not be conquered by misfortune means that Our Lady will obtain for the person sufficient Graces to handle said misfortune (i.e. carry the Crosses allowed by God) without falling into despair. As Sacred Scripture tells us, "For my yoke is sweet and my burden light." (Matthew 11:30)
This promise highlights the benefits of obtaining the most possible Graces at the hour of death via the Sacraments of Confession, Eucharist, and Extreme Unction (Anointing of the Sick). Being properly disposed while receiving these Sacraments near death ensures one's salvation (although perhaps with a detour through Purgatory) since a final repentance is possible.
Our Lady highlights the great quantity of Graces obtain through praying the Rosary, which assist us during life and at the moment of death. The merits of the Saints are the gift of God's rewards to those persons who responded to His Grace that they obtained during life, and so Our Lady indicates that She will provide a share of that to us at death. With this promise and #7 above, Our Lady is providing the means for the person to have a very holy death.
Should one require Purgatorial cleansing after death, Our Lady will make a special effort to obtain our release from Purgatory through Her intercession as Advocate.
This promise is a logical consequence of promises #3 and #4 since anyone who truly lives a holier life on earth will obtain a higher place in Heaven. The closer one is to God while living on earth, the close that person is to Him also in Heaven. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states "Spiritual progress tends toward ever more union with Christ." (Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraph 2014)
This promise emphasizes Our Lady's role as our Advocate and Mediatrix of all Graces. Of course, all requests are subject to God's Most Perfect Will. God will always grant our request if it is beneficial for our soul, and Our Lady will only intercede for us when our request is good for our salvation. (see Lumen Gentium chapter VIII - Our Lady #62)
If one promotes the praying of the Rosary, Our Lady emphasizes Her Maternal care for us by obtaining many Graces (i.e. spiritual necessities) and also material necessities (neither excess nor luxury), all subject to the Will of God of course.
Since Our Lady is our Advocate, She brings us additional assistance during our life and at our death from all the saints in Heaven (the Communion of Saints). See paragraphs 954 through 959 in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Since the Rosary is a most excellent prayer focused on Jesus and His Life and activities in salvation history, it brings us closer to Our Lord and Our Lady. Doctrinally, Our Lady is our Mother and Jesus is our Eldest Brother, besides being our God. (see Lumen Gentium chapter VIII - Our Lady #62)
Predestination in this context means that, by the sign which is present to a person from the action of devoutly praying the Rosary, God has pre-ordained your salvation. Absolute certainty of salvation can only be truly known if God reveals it to a person because, although we are given sufficient Grace during life, our salvation depends upon our response to said Grace. (See Summa Theologica, Question 23 for a detailed theological explanation). Said another way, if God has guaranteed a person's salvation but has not revealed it to Him, God would want that person to pray the Rosary because of all the benefits and Graces obtained. Therefore, the person gets a hint by devotion to the Rosary. This is not to say that praying the Rosary guarantees salvation - by no means. In looking at promises #3 and #4 above, praying the Rosary helps one to live a holy life, which is itself a great sign that a soul is on the road to salvation. (See also paragraphs 381, 488, 600, 2782 in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.) In fact, St. Louis de Montfort says even more strongly that "an infallible and unmistakable sign by which we can distinguish a heretic, a man of false doctrine, an enemy of God, from one of God's true friends is that the hardened sinner and heretic show nothing but contempt and indifference to Our Lady..."
Serial killer Ted Bundy killed two girls one night and entered the room of a third girl. Ted told a priest that, as he entered the room, he and his knife were blown out of the room. When the priest interviewed the girl, she said that she said the rosary every night but she fell asleep that night with her rosary around her arm.
My personal experience. I’m the author of this website – Dr. Rick Smith. I was walking my dogs and someone called and said their dog ran away. Since I was already talking to the Blessed Virgin Mary, I asked her for her help. Within 5 minutes, they called and said the dog had been found.

Wouldn’t it be Nice to have a Friend who…
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a friend that, even though they were extremely powerful and very important in the "eyes of the world", was modest and humble and who was always willing to listen to us at any time of day, even if we awoke at 3 am and we wanted to talk to them with no cell phone charges or busy signals?
A person who would listen to and understand every word we say and, if we said it wrong, they knew what we meant.
A person, who would do anything for us and proved it by giving up their life for us in the most horrible way imaginable.
A person, who is willing to forgive anything we ever did to Him, no matter how bad it was, even though He never did anything wrong to us.
A person who only asked us to be a good person and He gave us 10 simple rules to follow to achieve this goal.
A friend, who never wanted to borrow money, even though they never earned much money during their lifetime.
A friend who never told bad jokes, interfered in our business, embarrassed us or asked us for favor.
A friend, who has "highest standards" than any of our other friends.
A friend who noticed every good thing we ever did and they will reward us for every one of them.
A person who never lost faith in us and who just asks that we never lose faith in Him.
A friend, who could make you happy for eternity.
A friend who wants you to ask them for favors even though you may not deserve them.
A friend who loved you so much that He was willing to be nailed to a cross and willing to hang there for hours until he died for you.
Well, we all have such a friend and we always will …
His name is Jesus…

"The Diet Bible" book
This book is called The Diet Bible because it tells the TRUTH! It’s guaranteed to work because it doesn’t tell you lies to sell you something.
The Diet Bible addresses the real reason why people fail to lose their unwanted pounds. We have all heard about Diet and Exercise but the third, and most important, factor is the reason why people's diets fail - the HUMAN FACTOR.
People don’t use their new equipment for the same reason they never used their last equipment, because they never "Trained their Brain".
You can lose your unwanted pounds with any equipment or none at all. The ads want you to believe you can use their equipment and it will be easy but that’s not true! If that were true, everyone would use the one exercise equipment that works.
Some people lose weight with diets, some with equipment, some with jumping-jacks so which way works? They ALL do. You just have to do them - forever – and you can’t do that without “training your brain”.
When you “Train your Brain, you learn the Rules of Success: "Long term" thinking, Hard work, Responsibility, Focus, Confidence, Denial, Motivation, Human limits, Logic, Leaving your “Comfort Zone”, Attitude, Pride, No Excuses and many more.
The Diet Bible focuses on weight loss but the same Rules of Success apply to any goal that you want to achieve! You don't get what you WISH for, you get what you WORK for!
Control your Brain and you’ll control your Weight and your Life!
Dr. Richard Smith wrote this book. He’s not an expert at weight loss, he just learned that you can succeed at anything if you use your brain. You can read about him by clicking on the link at the top of this website. That explains that he graduated in the lower-half of his high school class but he realized that he could do more if he used his brain and eventually he became a doctor!
